The owner of this buggy wanted something to set apart his buggy from all the other 650 Sand Spiders out there so he asked me to add a few things to his buggy.
WindshieldI design the windshield using cardboard and tape to create a rough windshield frame mock up on the buggy. Our machine shop fabricated the frame to my specifications out of steel stock and then T&L Powder Coating, (434)985-6022, sandblasted and powder coat painted. A local glass company put DOT safety glass into the frame and then I installed the windshield wiper and motor.
Parking Brake LightI see tons of cases where people leave their parking brake on for a while and completely burn up the pads, caliper and rotor. Rather than have that happen to him, this smart customer decided to have me put a dash mount LED parking brake indicator on his buggy. When he turns the key to the accessory position, the LED will come on. When he turns the key further, the LED will go off if the brake is not engaged and will stay lit if it is engaged.
Steering Column Mount Switch AssemblyJoyner buggies come with the light controls on the dash. The customer wanted things to work similar to his car because so I installed a switch assembly which mounts to the steering column. It houses the ignition switch on the right, hazard switch on top, and light controls on a left mounted wand.
